Bakunawa rose from the sea, her scaled and slick and massive form rising up over cities and mountains, her teeth glistening and her eyes filled with desire, and she opened her mouth wide. The moon, Mayari, looked on as the Celestial Eater grew closer and closer, stopped only when Haliya arrived and struck the great serpent with her sword. Haliya's mask reflected the warrior goddess' rage as she fought the serpent back into the sea, forcing it to retreat. It would only be a matter of time before an attempt on the moon's life would be made again, be it Bakunawa or one of the other Celestial Eaters. And as she laid to rest, she knew both herself and the mortal races would need to be ready.

The Islands of Sina Una is a new Campaign Setting for 5th Edition that pulls from precolonial mythology and culture of the Philippines. In the time since Bakunawa's last attack the mortal races that inhabit the island recover slowly as life goes on. While some do battle with the monsters that roam these lands, others work as intermediaries, communicating between spirits and deities to help protect and guide their people. And yet, there are still others who choose to align with the terrible Celestial Eaters, to destroy the moon and bring about the end of all things.

The book is lovely, but. . .

"I adore Islands of Sina Una, it's genuinely a gorgeous book but I can't ignore how badly Lucia Versprille/Seersword treats her backers for her current project Tales from Sina Una. She doesn't communicate, just disappears for months while claiming the project is nearly done. It's been "almost finished" for nearly two years now. I backed the first campaign, and even with the delays, she actually communicated. Compared to the current Kickstarter, that first campaign felt like it went really smoothly. At this point, I can't recommend supporting Lucia's work in any form. Backers who pledged for Tales from Sina Una still haven't received their copies of Islands of Sina Una, despite it being an already complete product. Meanwhile the book is being sold online or sitting on game store shelves. Shows exactly how little she respects the people who supported her in the first place. Not to mention she also still hasn't delivered the Tales from Sina Una book, which is years late and somehow still doesn't even have a PDF. Updates are basically nonexistent (just excuses upon excuses), Lucia ghosts her backers, and now she's apparently ghosting Hit Point Press too. Taking money for an already finished product and not sending it is unacceptable and really shady behavior. If you're thinking of getting this book, please reconsider. Your money would be better spent supporting other Filipino creatives who actually honor their commitments."

Content is truly unique

"The content of the book is amszing with truly unique spells, items, deities and subclasses as well as the two classes themselves. However, the book came a bit damaged on the edges because it was probably shook around too much while being delivered, therefore only 4 stars."

The Islands of Sina Una Campaign

"A fantastic resource for a non-eurocentric campaign setting. Great ideas for a less conventual south east Asian setting"

I adore this. I love

"I adore this. I love how in depth this is, and I'm so proud of the team and the effort they put in. Hell, I even got a new clam to work with for the food. I also ADORE the new spells, I'm surprised that there's been no lava spells in the base works. I want nothing but the best for this team."

Wonderful Culture with some Obvious missing pieces

"I really love the culture, creatures, and options in the book. That three different Pinoys recommended it shows something. The problems I have found are in missing spells, abilities, and references. Specifically the "possession" referred to in the Berbalang's Feast ability and the Spiritual Spear of the Tamawo. There is nothing that even talks about Berbalang possession and Spiritual Spear doesn't exist in the book at all."

An absolute treasure!

"This book is incredibly beautiful and well-researched. I especially appreciate the care the writers and designers took in making precolonial Philippine culture accessible to modern players. I loved reading the appendix about the decisions and compromises that they made in adapting it to the 5e mechanics—I wish all creators were this transparent about their process. As someone who is FilAm, I'm hoping that this helps me tap into my roots the way it did for the creators of this wonderful treasure."

This book is fantastic! There's

"This book is fantastic! There's so much exciting new content of so many different kinds, the art is beautiful, and I really appreciate the notes describing the cultural context and decision-making process behind what was included and how it was adapted."

An excellent project

"One of the best game purchases I've made in recent years. The love that the creators put into Sina Una is clear throughout."
