What is SHIFT RPG?

SHIFT RPG is an upcoming tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) from Canadian game publisher Hit Point Press. It is played with a set of five polyhedral dice (d4 through d12) and helps you tell a story with your friends in any setting imaginable.

What can I do in SHIFT RPG?

As a TTRPG, SHIFT lets you and a group of friends take on the roles of characters you create, to tell a compelling story. You can battle monsters, explore distant planets, make friends and enemies in local pubs. Your imagination is the only limit!

What’s the difference between SHIFT RPG and Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons, or D&D, is a fantasy combat game and uses a twenty-sided die, whereas SHIFT is narratively driven and uses every die except the d20. SHIFT is setting agnostic, meaning that it can be played in any and all fictional settings. Where D&D enemies have Hit Points, adversaries in SHIFT have dynamic traits that players can target tactically. SHIFT does not use the D&D Open Gaming License, as it is an original game system.
